Mission:
Serve as the primary Logistics contact between Marketing and Operations and help ensure that a balance between fill rates and delivery performance is achieved in meeting the delivery needs of Footwear Sourcing and the worldwide Sales Organizations. Provide global project planning direction and help manage all aspects of the project planning process for all Portland based Business Units. Manage and Materials Forecasting. Schedule production and work as a team with Liaison offices and SCI/ SCS to support on time delivery and capacity maximization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set direction for the monthly Buy Plan and Capacity Plan development
• Manage the monthly order allocation process and set direction for the Forecasting process
• Ability to take ownership for achievement of Management Performance and Factory Fill Rate targets.
• Work closely with Head of Sourcing, Country Managers and LO Planning Managers to ensure optimal use of factories capabilities.
• Suggest product transfers after careful consideration of country-of-origin restrictions, tooling and factory capacity constraints, model mix and overall factory fill rates.
• Work on enhancing current systems to better manage the mid/long-term planning process to best service market needs. Continually improve systems and processes to eliminate redundancy and improve efficiency.
• Supervise guidelines and policies for functional areas of responsibility. Define KPI’s and provide regular performance reporting.
• Recommend and reinforce pull forward timelines to Development, analyze and make recommendation on forecast versus tooling capacity to Marketing to ensure target production ramp up for each project is met.
• Knowledge of factory capabilities, forecasting, manufacturing, and sales/marketing.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to apply these to capacity planning.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years experience in operations, with knowledge of the textile or hardware industries.
• Knowledge of logistics’ computer applications, MS (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
