Operations Manager – Spare Parts Logistics
The Operations Manager is a management role reporting to the Operational Network Director in Brussels. He/she acts as single global/regional interface between assigned customers and the internal company organisation to ensure that contracted service levels are constantly maintained and improved.
Job Description
• Regional geographical operational responsibility for France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Africas.
• Represent Senior Management as part of the customer teams, attend external/internal business reviews and start initiatives on optimizing customer programs.
• This person will hold final responsibility for all logistics operations in a particular geographical area, and consequently thereby manage a large organisation of activities and people.
• Ensure that performance targets are achieved for customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, profitability and employee productivity and develops corrective actions to achieve the targets wherever necessary
• Holds full P&L responsibility for the European logistics centre, SPC network and Same Day transport activity (when in-house operated) within the geographical area.
• Drive the countries to implement the new business model.
• Develop and maintain an ELC, SPC network, and Same Day transport Network plan for the geographical area
• Facilitate the selection, contracting and implementation process of SPC and Same Day transport partners.
• Facilitate and co-ordinate the development and implementation of new services initiatives within the ELC/SPC/Same Day network.
• This person is requested to solve both strategic issues at senior management level as well as operational and tactical level at middle management and lower level.
• Manage process improvement initiatives that directly result in cost reductions and more efficient operation.
• Mass customise solutions by driving standardisation of process across multiple facilities.
• Ability to negotiate partner contracts at senior management level
• Good people management skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Good understanding of logistics operations environment
• Solid P&L experience
• Good understanding of High Tech Industry Dynamics
• Experience with Project Management software and lay out planning software
• Good knowledge of supply chain / WMS software
• Experience with utilising and analysing capital investment appraisal techniques
• Minimum 5-8 years experience in managing vendor and infrastructure management.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English and preferably 1-2 other European languages at a higher business level
• Preferred Masters degree in Logistics
