SENIOR LEAD BUYER

Job Description

You have responsibility in your buying domain for the complex files for all De Post-La Poste departments and subsidiaries. In compliance with laws governing public companies and in-house buying rules and procedures, you negotiate and enter into contracts that safeguard efficient buying policy in your buying domain.

Roles and responsibilities
• You work with other managers at De Post-La Poste to gear buying to the needs of the company. You advise and support internal customers to define needs and establish project budgets and schedules. You communicate with internal customers, proactively sharing all appropriate information.
• You author specifications, request quotes, select suppliers (domestic and international) and negotiate complex deals in your buying domain to obtain the best possible conditions for De Post-La Poste, in compliance with laws governing public companies and in-house buying rules and procedures.
• You monitor contracts and orders to ensure they are in compliance with contract stipulations and/or laws governing public companies.
• You maintain relations with suppliers, conduct prospecting on the market and evaluate existing suppliers to identify new opportunities for De Post-La Poste in your buying domain.
• You support the efficient management of the database (suppliers, articles, customers, quotes and more) to ensure fingertip access to information at all times.
• You regularly update the Purchasing Manager and customers on the latest developments in your buying domain and on ongoing contracts.
• You maintain specialised knowledge in your purchase domain and monitor market development from close by.
• You coordinate and monitor quality control on delivered goods and services, based on standards and criteria established in advance.

Skills

Experience and technical skills
• You have at least 8 years’ experience as a buyer in a large company
• You have good knowledge of buying processes
• You have knowledge of ERP and reporting techniques (Oracle, Business Objects)
• A VIB / PICS certificate is an asset
• Knowledge of public contracts is an asset

Languages
• You express yourself well in Dutch, French and English

Computer skills
• You are familiar with MS Office
